DBA case against INVIZION, INC. and ZURICH NORTH AMERICA

This decision awards temporary total disability compensation under the Longshore and Harbor Worker’s Compensation Act as extended by the Defense Base Act, for cardiac impairments and psychiatric injuries. Invision, which Zurich insures, hired the Claimant in January 2009 as an Arabic language interpreter to work in Iraq, primarily accompanying Navy SEALS in combat. The Claimant suffers from a congenital cardiac condition his employment aggravate and from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) arising from his combat exposure.
